Day One - 40 Days of Christmas

Hello family,

Welcome to day one of the 40 Days of Christmas. We walk with you through the Bible with a focus on Jesus, the reason for the season.

So, we begin at Genesis chapter one and we are at the grand opening ceremony of creation or actually of recreation.

And Bible speaking in Gensis1:1 (NLT) says;
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

From the very start, we are left without a doubt that everything begins from God and the bulk ends on His table.

And then in verse 2, we find that God was not alone - another person called - the Spirit of God was there too.

Also, in verse 26 of Genesis 1 Bible says:
"Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us...”
Genesis 1:26 NLT

So God was not alone. And we have confirmed that the Spirit of God was there too.

Then in John1:1-3, we find out that there was a third person during the creation know as *the Word*. Bible speaking in John1:1-3 says;

1. In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. He existed in the beginning with God.
3. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

So verse three of John one says everything in Genesis One was created through the Word.

Verse one and two of John chapter one also clearly stated that *the Word* is God.

That means the Word is the third and final member of the God-Head as revealed throughout scriptures.

 So when God said; "Let Us make man..." this was God the Father, The Word and the Holy Spirit speaking in unison.

So where is Jesus?

In same book of John chapter one and verse fourteen - Bible says;

"So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son."
John 1:14 NLT

Wow!!!
The Word became human
And we named Him Jesus.

Ok, yes, it was the Word that became human. How did the Word become human?

A reading of the explanation given by the Angel to Mary the mother of Jesus gives us the answer in Luke1:34-35 NLT Bible speaking say;

"Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God."

Does this look familiar to what happened in Genesis one - The Holy Spirit Moving and the Word going forth from the Father and things happen?

This is how the Word became flesh and we named him Jesus!

But we can see from the book of Genesis and using the words of the Apostle Paul:

"But now [at this very moment] in Christ Jesus you who once were [so very] far away [from God] have been brought near by the blood of Christ."
Ephesians 2:13 AMP

We have been brought near to God.

All this happened because Jesus came.

All this happened because of Christmas πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–

That's why we celebrate Christmas πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’–

This is Pastor Josh,😊
I love you and God bless you!❣️
