Start the New Testament of Your Life

The division of the Bible into old and new testament is a theological division for the purpose of better understanding. The entire Bible is actually one storyline from Genesis to revelation. But as the story progresses, the character and the theme of the story changes. Better still we can say the old testament is Season One and the new testament is Season Two. Some characters, locations, etc may change but its the same story. The centre of both old and new testament is Jesus Christ.

So, when you read Matthew chapter one for instance, the first few verses was a quick flash back of the previous characters on the scene till it got to Mary and Joseph and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The New testament continued from Jesus Christ to the Apostles, to the first Church, to the Gentile Churches and now those of us who are currently the living breathing walking representation of the Kingdom of God on earth.

If Jesus tarries, we will also exit the scene one day and others will carry on.

But for now, we are here.
And it is time for us to write our own  "new testament" regardless of what point you are currently in life.

Jesus began the new testament from birth. Marry & Joseph began with their engagement and marriage. The first disciples of Jesus began their new testament after becoming career men. The Saul was a terrorist to the Church and when he began his new testament, he became Paul - the same Apostle Paul. Timothy began his new testament as a teenager.

So, wherever you are now, you can start your version of the new testament.

Your life can switch like night and day. You can be so transformed and everything about you can change. Including your name, bank account, personality, looks and even career.

The first step is an encounter with Jesus. No one was able began their new testament version without Jesus. It always and mandatorily begins with believing and accepting Jesus as Savior and as Lord.

Also, it means that whatever life you have lived before, no matter how unpleasant, can be conveniently and effortlessly left behind in the past when you encounter Jesus. Everything about you from now forward: your marriage, your relationships, your career, and all you are will also receive new life and a new purpose for their existence in your life. The life will come in like electricity and make everything glow with the glory.

Bible says:
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP

So, it is time to bless our world with your beautiful version of the new testament today. The story will not be completed in one day, or one year - just like Jesus had to grow day by day, we also must continue to grow in it day by day by following the person and the principles of Jesus Christ till we fulfill our purpose and leave the scene for others.

Father, turn around the tides and circumstances of my life around, make me an object of pride, a joy from generation to generation in Jesus name, amen!

In the name of Jesus, I speak to every contrary and unpleasant circumstances in my life and I declare a turn around. Let storms cease. Let shame disappear. Let reproach be gone. Chaffs Be Blown Away

Father, everything and everyone not of You or from You, I name them 'ungodly' and I declare that they are chaff which the wind drives away in Jesus name, amen!

In the name of Jesus, I name as 'ungodly' every situation, circumstances, things or persons that is not from the Father, they are as chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore, there is no room for times wasters, financial devourers, destroyers, sicknesses, evil friendships and associations - let them be all blown away. Only glorious things are spoken of me. Only goodness and mercy follows me. I swim in health and dwell in prosperity in Jesus name, amen!

Don't Stay Down For Too Long

Don't stay down or depressed for too long.

If you do, it may begin to feel like it will always be like that. This may then shape your perception about everything else.

But, it is not true.

There are no hopeless situations for a child of God.

Now, I am not asking you to "man up" or pretend like everything is fine. No.

But I am saying you need to allow your healing and recovery process to start. Do not postpone your healing or recovery to a future date or till a future occurrence. Do not leave it to chance. And please, do not make it another person's responsibility.

Start your healing now.

Give yourself a healing period - as much time as you need - 14days, 21days, 30days, etc. But be definite.

Plan a small event to celebrate your healing on the final day. It could be a solo-event or with your closest friends.

From day one, plan different activities towards your healing such as time to think, ask questions, write, cry.

Do what you have to do; delete some things, block contacts, burn or trash some stuffs, etc.

But ensure you do something daily.

As you move towards the middle days, cut off the external hold on you. Stop the blame game. Let the bulk end on your table. Drop the idea of revenge. Put away the malice, ill-speaking, the envies, comparison, guile, lies, fabrications, assumptions and bad blood. Just let it go for the sake of your sanity.

But be careful. Do not turn the knife on yourself. Don't start to blame yourself.

Apologize to yourself.

Forgive yourself too.

Decide that there is a way forward even if you don't know it yet. But make up your mind that your story will be a success story too.

As you enter the final days of your healing, open up the doors to new opportunities and possibilities. Observe nature and people with new light. Be open to the next. To ready to welcome the new.

And dare to believe that the new, the next will be better and it will be permanent. Dare to believe it.

Remember that your circumstances or status do not need to change for you to change attitude and be happy. Your smile does not depend on your bank account.

On the final day, even if you still do not feel like it, go ahead and do as planned. Celebrate your healing. Your feelings may be late to the party but it will catch up.

The prepare table are for those who passed through the valley of the shadow of death. There is a feast for you ahead.

Bible says;

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."

Psalms 23:4‭-‬5 NIV.

One last thing. Even though you have gone through the healing you will still see the scars. Do not be ashamed of your scars. Every time you remember, see something or bump into it - just remind yourself that it is your bragging right that you went through the valley of shadows. You earned your seat at the feast.

So don't remain in the valley of shadows. Walk through it and join the feast.
